Isolo, Lagos

Strong indications have emerged that the paramount ruler of Isolo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Isa Abiodun Faronbi-Shekoni has thrown his full weight behind the APC candidates for the forthcoming council election in Isolo LCDA given the new monarch\'s disclosure of concluded recruitment of not less than 200 canvassers to undertake door-to-door campaign in the countdown to the July 12 Lagos council polls.
The ebony king made this known when he received a delegation of APC standard-bearers led by the incumbent council chairman, Olasoju Adebayo at his palace on Wednesday. The delegation which was on a familiarisation visit comprised the vice chairmanship candidate, Sadiq Shakir, the incumbent councillors and their successors-to-be, cabinet members as well as other top members of Olasoju\'s administration.
In his words, the council boss serially introduced the councillorship candidates and the vice chairmanship hopeful noting that none of the past vice chairmen had been twice lucky for the position until the turn of Hon. Shakir Sadiq.
Speaking on behalf of the Oba Osolo & Chiefs-in-Council, the Olukosi of Isolo and second-term Akinbaye Ward councillorship hopeful, Hon. Idris Babatunde Amusa expressed appreciation to the council boss for nurturing him to political stardom since his late father entrusted him in his care as Chief Monsuru Agbabiaka - Ekerin of Isolo urged the visiting party men to leverage the coming election to exert their dominance to politically reposition Isolo in the comity of council areas in the state.
In his royal remarks, the Osolo of Isolo, Oba Isa Abiodun Faronbi-Shekoni welcomed the delegation to his palace. The monarch declared that since the July 12 election is going to be his first since destiny bestowed his new office on him; he isn\'t going to fail to maximise the opportunity.
Osolo continued by rating the administration of Olasoju Adebayo high for the impactful projects embarked upon over the last four years thereabouts saying he\'s confident that his second term in office shall be characterized by even greater accomplishments.
\"Considering the array of impactful projects around; we should have just allowed Hon. Olasoju to continue in office without necessarily undergoing election. Among the several ways I have resolved to advance the party\'s cause which I\'m sure the council chairman isn\'t aware of is the recruitment of 200 canvassers for co-opting into the existing campaign structure of the party without delay\" Oba Faronbi-Shekoni said.
Delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the visiting delegation, the council vice chairman, Sadiq Shakir thanked the royal father and his Chiefs-in-Council for the warm reception and royal blessings as he noted that voting on July 12 shall be a landmark in the monarch\'s life unlike the past elections prior to ascending the throne.
