Isolo, Lagos
Friday, 19th Sept. ’25
As the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal and the Sanwo-olu-led State Governments are prioritizing education with laudable initiatives such as the NELFUND and its likes, Isolo Local Council Development Area, under the progressive leadership of Olasoju Adebayo, has continued to make significant contributions to ensure that the grassroots is not left out.
The latest effort by the council boss came on Thursday with the flag-off ceremony of the 2025 edition of the Mega Back-to-School Project, which provided essential educational items for over 7,000 pupils across the 14 public primary schools within the council area.
In his remarks at the grand occasion held on the council expansive premises along Osolo Way, Isolo, Olasoju described the gesture as yet another significant milestone in his administration’s commitment to making education fun and rewarding for the pupils and less a burden on their parents.
Olasoju explained that the success of last year’s edition which not only sustainably helped bring more out-of-school children back into the classroom and significantly reduce the financial burden on parents but also inspired his administration to carry out this year’s edition even in a greater version in spite of the huge financial implication.
While announcing and unboxing the items in each of the backpacks to include a brand new uniform, exercise books, pairs of socks and sandals among others, the council boss announced the best headteacher, teacher and non-teaching staff member for 2025 the trio of whom he said would be handsomely rewarded during this year’s teacher’s day celebration to foster healthy spirit of competition for excellence service delivery among staff members of the 14 public primary schools in the council area.

“As a responsible government, we will continue to make bold strides in the education sector and across other areas of governance in pursuit of our all-encompassing agenda, #TowardsTheIsoloOfOurDreams, while also contributing to the advancement of the Lagos State Government’s THEMES+ agenda.
Today, we are not only providing pupils with free uniforms, brand new school bags, pairs of socks and sandals, and writing materials sufficient for the entire session—we are also, as I mentioned earlier, recognizing and rewarding the Best Teacher, Best Headteacher, and Best Non-Teaching Staff. This is our way of encouraging the invaluable commitment and selfless service of our dedicated educators,” Olasoju was quoted saying.
