The Executive Chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Olasoju Adebayo, has assured residents that his administration will spare no effort in sustaining and strengthening peace, securing lives and property of residents, following recent pockets of cult-related disturbances in the council area.

The chairman gave this assurance on Tuesday during a visit to the Paramount Ruler of Isolo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Isa Faronbi-Shekoni, as part of proactive steps to address the situation.

Speaking during the brief meeting, Olasoju emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between the council administration and traditional institution in maintaining peace and order. He noted that the engagement had become imperative to promptly nip the emerging cult-related clashes in the bud and preserve the tranquility the council area has enjoyed since his assumption of office.

He further disclosed that the council has intensified collaboration with the five police divisions in the council area, the Lagos State and other security agencies to ensure rapid response, sustained patrols, and increased surveillance across identified flashpoints in Isolo.

He assured residents that the situation was under control and that decisive measures were being taken to prevent further escalation.

Olasoju added that his administration is also strengthening youth-focused interventions, including skills acquisition programmes and community sensitization initiatives, aimed at steering young people away from negative influences and encouraging productive engagement.

Traversing notable points enroute the Palace in the company of  officers of the Nigeria Police Force Tactical Team and Anti-Cultism Squad, the council boss interacted with residents and reiterated his administration’s zero-tolerance stance on cultism and other activities capable of threatening public peace.

He warned that anyone found engaging in acts that undermine peace and security would face the full weight of the law, while law-abiding residents would continue to enjoy the protection and support of the local government.
