JULY 12 POLLS: ISOLO APC FLAGS OFF CAMPAIGN IN GRAND STYLE

In an impressive display of unity and numerical strength, the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Isolo LCDA has rallied support for its chairmanship candidate, Hon. Olasoju Adebayo; his running mate, Hon. Shakir Adeola Sadiq; and the seven councillorship candidates ahead of the forthcoming local council elections.
At the official presentation of candidates and campaign flag-off held on Thursday at the Hillcrest Event Centre, party stalwarts led by former APC State Chairman and member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Otunba Henry Oladele Ajomale, formally endorsed the party’s flagbearers.
The epoch-making event, held at the spacious Hillcrest Event Centre, attracted a crowd of over 2,000 party members and supporters, underscoring APC’s intimidating grassroots strength and readiness for the July 12 polls.
The colourful and historic flag-off is coming just two days after the party, at the state level reaffirmed Olasoju and other winners of the May 10 chairmanship primaries across the 57 LGAs and LCDAs in Lagos State as the official flagbearers.
In his remarks, Otunba Ajomale expressed appreciation to party members on behalf of the candidates. He commended other aspirants for their show of sportsmanship and urged all to put the primaries completely behind them and work together to secure victory at the polls. He commended the council helmsman for his consistent loyalty to the party, recalling how he had previously stepped down in deference to party supremacy.
Speaking earlier, Otunba Jide Oni called on all aspirants and stakeholders to close ranks and work towards delivering a resounding victory for the party. He urged other aspirants to remain unwavering in their loyalty to the party. The towering political juggernaut and successful entrepreneur attributed his own political growth to his respect for party supremacy and encouraged all aspirants to rally around the party\'s candidates and work tirelessly for the APC’s success.
In his remarks, Olasoju expressed heartfelt gratitude to his deputy, Hon. Shakir Sadiq Adeola, the party leadership, his executive team, members of the 5th legislative arm, ward chairmen, support groups, and others who contributed to his success during his first term. He reiterated his commitment to consolidation in the next four years, pledging to uphold APC’s hallmark of transformational leadership as being exemplified by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the federal and state levels, respectively.
While introducing the party’s councillorship candidates for the seven political wards namely —
Hon. Idris Babatunde Amusa - Akinbaiye Ward, Adeolu Ikugbayigbe- Ajao Estate Ward, Nofisat Shobayo-Lawal - Ilasamaja Ward, Adenrele Azeez - Alagbeji Ward, Jamiu Ajose - Okota Ward, Yusuf Oni - Apena Ward and Kehinde Ajala - Ishagatedo/Ire-Akari Ward, Olasoju appealed to all and sundry for continued support, echoing the sentiments of the party chairman, Barrister Gani Bello, and Hon. Oladipupo Ajomale, the member representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of party symbols to the seven councillorship candidates all of whom were dressed in Olasoju-branded Adire attire, by Otunba Henry Oladele Ajomale who was joined by other political leaders.
On hand to deliver musical performance at the event was Ogabi Oluwatosin popularly known as ‘Mr Hero’ and his creative Band who litted the event with electrifying melodies, at intervals.
