OLASOJU TAKES 2026 \'BUDGET OF IMPROVED DEVELOPMENTS\' BEFORE 6TH LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

In accordance with section 122 sub-section 9 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), the Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo has presented the appropriation bill for the coming year 2026 to the Legislative Arm of the council. 

Giving an insight into the bill themed ‘Budget of Improved Development,’ Olasoju explained that 56% of the budget estimate will go for recurrent expenditure which include salaries (teachers & staff), pensions, gratuities and essential services while capital expenditure stands at 46% with its large chunk going into infrastructural development, youth and women empowerment, healthcare delivery, education, security, social welfare, tourism and sports development. 

He explained that budget formulation was after thorough consideration of the numerous inputs of critical players at the budget stakeholders’ consultative forum held last month and thorough reviews of the demands at the subsequent budget retreat. He emphasized that the council will embark on numerous infrastructural development across all wards in the coming year to consolidate the gains of the year 2025.

“The budget has been prepared in conformity with extant rules and regulations, and in tandem with existing realities of our time after wide consultation with critical stakeholders thus, it is an inclusive document which captured the developmental aspirations of every interest in our local government; I mean the various wards in order to bring more realities on the hope of good governance that has been instituted in Isolo Local Council Development Area.

“To this extent therefore, this budget will further link our infrastructural development strategy to commerce, education, health and others, hence, it was tagged \"Budget of Improved Developments,” the council boss said.

Speaking further, the council boss expressed delight at the performance of 2025 budget as he expressed his conviction that 2026 budget will bring greater and far-reaching consolidation. 

“The implementation of 2025 budget has recorded some progress. And as such, this is another plan of actions for the 2026 fiscal year that will ensure completion of the developmental projects in critical sectors of the Local Council, especially Roads Infrastructures, Good Health Care delivery, Qualitative Education, clean Environment, and other various Empowerment programs to mention just a few and as well embark on new ones for the benefit of our people.” 

In his remarks, the legislative leader, Hon. Yusuf Oni commended the council boss for the rigorous efforts invested into formulating the financial appropriation as he promised swift deliberation on the bill and passage. 

Among other council officials in attendance at the epochal event included the Vice Chairman, Hon. Shakir Sadiq; the chief of staff, Princess Balikis Agbabiaka-Odunsi, Hon. Musbau Quadri as well as the management staff led by the council manager, Mrs. Mojisola Ogabi, leaderships of the Community Development Committee (CDC) and the National Youth Council of Nigeria  (NYCN), Isolo Local Branch among other stakeholders.
