CONTINUOUS VOTERS REGISTRATION: OLASOJU LEADS ISOLO STAKEHOLDERS AS INEC SENSITIZES KEY PLAYERS ON MODALITIES OF EXERCISE
Isolo, Lagos
Tues. 19th Aug. ‘25
Stakeholders from Isolo LCDA led by the council chairman, Olasoju Adebayo featured prominently at the Stakeholders’ Meeting organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) aimed at making the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration successful.
The event held at the commission’s office on Oshodi-Isolo LGA secretariat had in attendance Olasoju’s counterparts from the host secretariat and Ejigbo LCDA, Otunba Kehinde Oloyede-Almaroof and Aare Taoreed Taiwo, respectively.
In his remarks, the council boss commended the commission for the crucial engagement and enlightenment session describing it as an avenue to strengthen collaboration with relevant stakeholders for a successful exercise.
Olasoju assured that the council authority will intensify efforts in disseminating information about the exercise across the nooks and crannies of the council area and provide necessary support for applicants.
“This is a remarkable engagement, it’s an avenue to formally confer with the commission and get more information about the ongoing exercise. The meeting is as educative as informative and we are resolved to take the highpoints home and widely circulate them to our constituents. As a matter of fact, we’ve put machineries in motion to assist prospective voters; those who have just clocked 18 and those who have one or two issues with their previous PVC, with their online registration,” Olasoju added.
Earlier in her remarks, the Electoral Officer for Oshodi-Isolo LGA, Mrs. Catherine Gbadebo emphasized that the commission frowns at double registration as the registration window is only for those who have just come of age to vote or who have misplaced their Permanent Voter’s Card or have changed their place of residence and felt the need to transfer their voting rights under the scope of intra and inter-state transfer.
She emphasized that the exercise is also opened to those who wish to update their marital status or correct spelling errors in their names.
She enjoined concerned individuals to make the most of the registration window while hinting that commission will hit public places such churches and mosques in due course for voters education.
The electoral officer emphasized that the while the e-registration has commenced, the commission’s office in Oshodi-Isolo LGA secretariat will be opened between the hours of 9am to 3pm on week days beginning from Monday 25th August 2025 for physical registration.
