The Chairmanship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo, alongside his 17 counterparts in Lagos West I had their candidacies reaffirmed at a mega senatorial rally held on Thursday at Ifako Mini Stadium, Ifako.

The event was held to galvanize more support for the party’s candidates ahead of the July 12 local council polls across the 57 LGAs and LCDAs in the state. 

Thousands of party faithful from across the 18 local government that made up Lagos West I gathered for the rally with contingent, which included the party officials, incumbent and councillorship flagbearers as among other stakeholders, from Isolo LCDA adorned in Olasoju’s crested T-shirts and baseball caps featuring prominently. 

In attendance at the grand event were the deputy governor, Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa; the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin; party chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, vice chairman (Lagos West), Aboyade Sunday, members of the governance advisory committee and other party leaders who all took turns to address the teeming audience, charging all and sundry on massive mobilisation for the party’s success stressing that the local council polls is a litmus test for the party’s readiness for the 2027 general elections. 

Major highlight of the event was the presentation of APC flags to Olasoju and his running mate, Hon. Shakir Adeola Sadiq by revered GAC Leader, Chief Rabiu Oluwa, as well as the other 17 flagbearers of the party across Lagos West 1 senatorial district. 

With the massive mobilisation of loyalists to the rally, APC is poised to recording emphatic victory across the 57 LGAs and over 376 wards in the state.
