OLASOJU BAGS ‘OUTSTANDING SUPPORT FOR EDUCATORS’ AWARD FROM NIGERIAN UNION OF TEACHERS

Yet another feather was, on Friday, added to the well-decorated cap of the Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo. This time around it came from the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Oshodi-Isolo Branch.

During a scheduled visit to the council chairman, the group led by the Branch Chairman, Comrade Bosede Adegbesan bestowed the council honcho with a remarkable award of appreciation and special recognition for his commitment to the welfare of teachers and his overall investment in the education sector. 

The educators explained that Olasoju was singled out for the special recognition owing to his far-reaching educational policy in Isolo LCDA that has brought significant development to the sector while also according due recognition to the teachers. 

Adegbesan specially appreciated the council boss for his yearly educational projects such as the mega Back-to-School project, the distribution of free GCE and UTME forms to indigent admission seekers,  the bursary awards to indigenes and residents of Isolo LCDA schooling in public tertiary institutions across the country, the yearly reward for outstanding head teacher, teacher and non-teaching staff in Isolo LCDA among other initiatives.

Adegbesan impressed that the teachers felt greatly honored by Olasoju’s generous donation to this year’s World Teacher’s Day celebration noting that NUT Oshodi-Isolo branch had the best celebration.

Just before presenting the award plaque to the council mayor, the group leader added that teachers would be better encouraged if other council boss take a cue from Olasoju far-reaching educational template at the grassroots. 

In his terse remark, the council boss appreciated the teachers for their thoughtful gesture reaffirming his commitment to ensure that the educational sector in Isolo LCDA remains ranked among the best in the state with adequate and deserve recognition given to the teachers. He stressed that he’s committed to changing the age-long narrative that teachers\' rewards are in heaven and he will stop at nothing to walk the talk.
