THOUSANDS BENEFIT AS OLASOJU HOSTS MEGA HEALTH MISSION AT COUNCIL SECRETARIAT

Isolo, Lagos
Thurs., 6th Nov., ‘25

The Mayor of Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo, has once again demonstrated why his administration’s robust healthcare policy remains a model for others, as thousands of residents across the council area benefited from a mega healthcare programme organized on Thursday.

The council’s expansive secretariat along Osolo Way was a beehive of medical activity as beneficiaries thronged the venue to take advantage of the quality healthcare services provided. The event featured screenings for communicable and non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, malaria, and HIV (screening and counselling), as well as other laboratory tests. It also included eye screening, dental care and restoration, cervical and prostate cancer screening, general consultation and treatment, and free enrollment into the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) – Ilera Eko health insurance scheme, among others.

In his address, Olasoju explained that the programme was in furtherance of his commitment to ensuring that residents lead healthy lives by making quality healthcare services affordable and accessible to all. He emphasized that the frequent special health outreaches are part of the multi-faceted approach his administration is adopting to promote healthy living among residents. This is as he also urged the residents to continually take full advantage of the Primary Healthcare Centres across the seven political wards.

The council boss assured that just as infrastructure, education, security, and other critical sectors are receiving heightened attention, the healthcare sector will continue to enjoy the same priority, stressing that more health initiatives are in the pipeline for the benefit of all.

Declaring the programme open, Olasoju went round making brief stops at the various sections and personally undergoing some of the medical check-ups; a gesture that underscored his commitment to the cause and encouraged residents to prioritize their health.

On her part, the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Anne Okonma expressed delight at the massive turn-out as she recalled the wide publicity given to the program to ensure that no one is left out. She assured that the health department will stop at nothing to advance Olasoju’s agenda of promoting healthy living among the residents.

Among the beneficiaries the Media Office spoke with was Alhaja Sikirat Ogidan who confirmed hearing the information through radio. She lauded Olasoju for his commitment to the welfare of residents and offered heartfelt prayers for his success at the helms.
