OLASOJU RECEIVES OSOLO ON OFFICIAL VISIT, PROMISES CONTINUED ROBUST SUPPORT FOR NEW MONARCH

Isolo, Lagos
Tues. 9th Sept. ‘25

Residents and stakeholders in Isolo LCDA can look forward to greater development across the council, as the council boss, Olasoju Adebayo, and the Paramount Ruler of Isolo Kingdom, Oba Isa Abiodun Olakunle Adejuwon Faronbi-Shekoni Mobadenle Arolagbade Alagbeji III, reaffirmed their commitment to the council area’s socioeconomic and political growth.

This renewed commitment was made on Monday when the paramount ruler, accompanied by his chiefs-in-council, paid his first official visit to the council chairman since his grand coronation last June.

Welcoming the revered monarch, Olasoju expressed delight at the visit, noting that it lends credence to Osolo’s dedication to promoting unity and strengthening the bond between traditional authority and government.

Speaking through the Balogun of Isolo, Chief Mojeeb Adio Adam, Osolo explained that the visit was necessary to felicitate the council chairman on his remarkable electoral victory and to further reinforce the symbiotic relationship between the traditional and constitutional institutions.

Chief Adam, a former vice chairman of the council, stressed that it was the wish of the entire community that Olasoju secure a second term to consolidate his developmental strides for a more prosperous Isolo LCDA. He added that it was only fitting for the traditional authority to pay a formal congratulatory visit following the council boss’s victory at the polls, which has now also been upheld by the judiciary. On behalf of the monarch, he presented the institution’s demands, which included sustained development across Isolo and improved welfare for the traditional council.

In his response, Olasoju expressed gratitude to Osolo and his chiefs-in-council for the visit. He described the day as epochal in the history of Isolo, assuring that the cordial relationship between the two institutions would only grow stronger.

The council boss further emphasized his commitment to extending the same level of support once accorded to the late Oba Kabiru Kolawole Alani Adelaja Agbabiaka Adeola Olushi III to Oba Faronbi-Shekoni, ensuring that his reign is defined by landmark development.

While appreciating the monarch for his role in his re-election, Olasoju appealed to the chiefs to remain united behind the traditional ruler and shun divisive tendencies, stressing their vital role in Oba Faronbi-Shekoni’s success on the throne of his forefathers.

He also assured his visitors of his determination to strengthen the peace and security already being enjoyed in Isolo, vowing that cultism, hooliganism, or any activity capable of disrupting peaceful coexistence would be firmly resisted. He emphasized that anyone found culpable, regardless of status, would face the full weight of the law.

On employment opportunities, Olasoju restated his resolve to continue facilitating job placements for indigenes and residents, strictly on merit, in both private and public institutions, while also committing to sustained investment in the human capital development of the youth.

Before graciously offering royal blessings to the council chairman and his workforce, Osolo commended the impartial role Olasoju played in the build-up to his emergence as monarch, describing him as a worthy leader with admirable qualities. He praised Olasoju for his unwavering support since ascending the ancient throne and expressed readiness to work closely with him to elevate Isolo’s status among the comity of historic cities in Lagos.

The historic meeting was rounded off with prayers and the rendition of the popular Isolo anthem, lending credence to the solidified alliance between the two key institutions.

Other council officials who joined Olasoju in hosting the monarch included the Vice Chairman, Hon. Shakir Sadiq; the Council Leader, Hon. Oni Yusuf; the Council Manager, Mrs. Mojisola Ogabi; and the Treasurer, Mr. Moruf Ajiga, among others. On Osolo’s entourage were the Lukosi Osolo, Hon. Chief Idris Amusa; Chief Jamiu Adisa (Afobaje Omotoba); Dr. Mukaila Agbabiaka (Afobaje Jagun Aluko); among other prominent chiefs.
