WE SHALL CONTINUE TO PRIORITISE HEALTHCARE DELIVERY - Olasoju Tells Isolo Residents
Isolarians in their thousands across ages, gender and backgrounds from afar and nearby thronged the Headquarters of Isolo LCDA on Osolo Way on Thursday to benefit from the council's mega Health Mission - an initiative of the council boss, Olasoju Adebayo under healthcare delivery.

The landmark event which covered such services as hypertension/ diabetes screening, HIV testing & counselling, eye screening & distribution of free glasses, cervical/Prostrate cancer screening, dental care, general consultation and treatments, free 'Ilera Eko' enrolment among others was coordinated by the council's health department under the headship of the Head of Department (HOD), Dr. Anne Okonma.

In his welcome address, council boss, Olasoju Adebayo commended the would-be beneficiaries for being intentional about their health as he discussed his government's efforts at complying with UNICEF's minimum of one functional Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) to a Geopolitical ward specification and the usefulness of the facilities in attending to their health needs primarily.

Olasoju continued that people should learn to place premium on their environment as a step towards healthy living by disposing their waste properly via the services of the Private Sector Participants (PSP) operator assigned to their respective areas or face prosecution if caught in illegal waste disposing.

"Illegal waste disposing is a big challenge before our adminstration today. Our people should know that, dirt when disposed at undesignated points constitute danger to our health. So much is being spent on waste evacuation while very little has been achieved. Do you imagine hired compactor workers working on a particular road only to meet fresh waste on same points where they've evacuated filthy dirt on their way back heading for the dump site even in the dead of the night. I'm sounding it as a note of warning to whoever is in the habit of doing so to desist forthwith or risk prosecution of caught".

Olasoju charged his audience to keep supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu given the laudable reforms he (Tinubu) is putting in place as he noted the presence of officials of Ilera Eko who shall be enrolling interested ones for the scheme saying:
"Today's programme and other ones that you are used to enjoying as well more those in the pipeline are all line with APC manifesto and President's policy direction which I believe is enough reason to confirm vote APC in all elections starting from January. There wouldn't be a better way to reward Asiwaju for NELFUND, massive infrastructural drive, economic reforms, reforms in the upstream and downstream oil sectors, sustained empowerments and complementary strives from states and local governments in the country etc than massively voting him (PBAT) for a second term" Olasoju remarked.
To declared the programme open, the council boss symbolically underwent the various screenings while expressing satisfaction at the quality of health practitioners mobilized.
Meanwhile, among beneficiaries who spoke to the press about the Mega Health Mission was Muhammad Goni kolo the Seriki of Elemo Land and Chairman, Oshodi-Isolo Arewa Chieftaincy Affairs, who lauded the chairman for what he described as a wonderful initiative. He recalled how he mobilized members of the Arewa community to make the most of the programme. He also commended the chairman for running an open door policy which profit is the feasible development right round Isolo.
